Have a Pumpkin Carving Contest

This is one of the most straightforward Halloween ideas that will get your kids to interact with each other, and it’s also great fun. Let them create their design for the pumpkin but remember to give them an idea about what designs to go for depending upon how old they are.

Simple designs will work well for very young kids, while older children can try out more complicated patterns. There are plenty of free pumpkins carving templates on the internet, or you can purchase a kit on Amazon.

Decorate The Front Porch

This is one of the easiest ways to give your front porch a spooky look this Halloween quickly. Place some spider web around the porch and use fake spiders, bats, and witches to create a creepy atmosphere. Hang up your kids’ drawings done on black construction paper cut into jack o lantern faces, or use these as table centerpieces. Make Some Halloween Recipes

There are so many easy Halloween recipes. Most of these can even be prepared in bulk and frozen for later use. A few great examples would be homemade peanut butter cups, pumpkin muffins, or even some spooky cupcakes.

Just look on Pinterest for some festive Halloween recipes and let your kids pick a few that they want to make. This is one of the best ways to celebrate Halloween at home because the kids will make and eat their unique treats!

Halloween Candy Hunt

Much like an Easter egg hunt, you can host a Halloween candy hunt in your house or backyard. Just gather up the typical trick or treating candy you’d purchase every year for trick or treaters and hide them throughout the house or yard.

Have the kids dress in Halloween costumes and run around trying to find every last piece of Halloween candy. You can even invite close family and friends over if you feel that’s safe this year as a way to celebrate Halloween at home with a candy hunt rather than trick or creating at strangers’ homes.

Have A Scary Movie Marathon

Some good old-fashioned scary movies are one of the best ways to celebrate Halloween at home. The kids will love staying up late, and it’s also an excellent chance for you to bond with your kids! Just make sure if they are young that you choose age-appropriate movies for them.

Netflix and Amazon Prime will have a large selection of Halloween films for kids of all ages. Just have a little look and see what your family may enjoy for a scary movie marathon night.

We hope you enjoyed our list of ways to celebrate Halloween at home. This list of ideas will get your creative juices flowing so that you can enjoy a festive but safe Halloween evening this year.
