How To Pack A Suitcase Correctly

How To Pack A Suitcase Correctly

Packing a suitcase can seem daunting, especially if you’re doing it last minute (like I did earlier this month). I was stressing out all week only to procrastinate, but I wanted to share the tips I’ve learned about how to pack a suitcase correctly.

Usually, I pack several times before leaving for the airport because I tend to overpack and change my mind about what I am bringing. However, with the help of my friends, here are some steps to pack like a pro!

Pack early

Pack that suitcase early. It will save you from the last-minute stress of packing. It will give you time to make sure everything you’re supposed to take with you is there. And you’ll be able to organize your items neatly and efficiently.

I am speaking from experience on this one. On the last trip I went on, I had to repack several times less than 12 hours before my trip. I clearly overpacked and definitely learned my lesson.

Does the suitcase work?

Make sure that suitcase works. Are there any rips or tears in the materials? Does the handle work, and the wheels turn? Start by checking everything out before loading up the suitcase with all of your stuff. If you find that your suitcase isn’t in good condition, it’s fine! Going shopping last minute for a new suitcase is also an option!

Be mindful of the weight.

Before you even start packing, make a list of the things you cannot live without on your trip. Get realistic and make sure you ONLY carry what you will need. You probably don’t need three pairs of heels if you’re going on a vacation to the beach! Trust me on this one… I always bring more shoes than I need.

Not only will carrying more than you need mean that you’ll have a hard time managing and carrying your luggage, but it can also wind up costing you money as you might have to pay for excess weight. Make sure you have some space to carry any cute things and souvenirs you might want to bring home!

EXPERT TIP: Once your list is made, make a pile of items to pack and go through it. Have a pile for “absolutely coming” and another for “would like to have it.” Once you have your two piles separated, pack the “absolutely coming” pile and see how much space is left.

If it helps, think about this quote when you’re packing, “if you pack it, you carry it.” My friends always tell me this is their rule when they pack. They learned the hard way when they were on their 3-month trip to Europe.

And, of course, I learned that myself during my trip to Las Vegas to see BTS. *LOL* It was a struggle.

Guard your liquids

Any items that contain liquids should be stored in a zipped-up pouch to prevent them from leaking. If your trip is short, I recommend putting more oversized products like shampoo and body gels into smaller containers to make them easier to carry. Instead, you can always put them in a small quart-sized bag in your carry-on.

Place essential things at the top.

Medicines, toiletries, underwear, and things you’ll need daily should be super accessible to avoid scrambling through your bag and re-organizing going through security.

Carry fragile items separately.

Computers, cameras, and anything that can break should be carried in a separate bag (i.e., a day bag you carry with you at all times). If there’s something you must pack and cannot carry with you, wrap it up in bubble wrap to keep it from breaking. If you’re traveling by plane, you have no control over how it will be handled once you drop it off at check-in.

Add a protective layer of plastic.

Once you’ve double-checked everything in there, zip up the suitcase and wrap it up with a protective layer of plastic for extra protection!

How To Create The Best Sleep Environment

How To Create The Best Sleep Environment

Every night, you should have a routine before you go to sleep. And creating a sleep environment that keeps you comfortable is almost just as important.

Ultimately, your sleeping environment should work for you and include things that will help you sleep soundly. This also includes whenever and wherever you’re traveling.

I wanted to share my experience in creating a sleep environment that works. Even though this is what worked for me, things will be different for you. I just wanted to give you some information to consider if you’re trying to find different ways to sleep better.

Sleep Environment

4 Easy Tips For Creating The Best Sleeping Environment:

Choose The Best Mattress For Your Body

Before moving into my new apartment, I had a 13-year-old mattress that was not working for my body. It was saggy on the side I slept on and didn’t give my back the support it needed.

When I went mattress shopping, I was somewhat focused on the budget. Still, I mainly wanted a mattress that wouldn’t make too much noise. I decided on a memory foam mattress, and I have been so happy since!

Sleeping well is one of the best things you can do for your health, so be sure you know what you want in a mattress. Test several of them out before deciding. Don’t choose one because it’s cheaper than the others.

Understand How You Sleep

As a side and stomach sleeper, I needed something to conform to my body while I slept. And I didn’t want to wake my husband up from tossing and turning every night. So, I knew that something like a memory foam mattress would be the best for us.

I also need to sleep with a slightly firmer pillow for my neck and shoulders. Since I have had neck and shoulder issues and migraines, I have tried out my fair share of pillows. Typically I sleep with 2-3 pillows, but that will be different for everyone. I know people with at least ten pillows on their bed, which works for them. (girl, you do you.)

If you sleep in the same bed with a partner, make sure you consider their sleeping habits so you both can be comfortable.

Control The Temperature Where You Sleep

Know what temperature you need the room to be while you sleep. This is another area where everyone’s preference will be different, and that’s okay.

I may be crazy, but I even sleep with a fan running in the middle of winter. Having air on my face helps my body stay cool since I tend to run a little hot when I sleep. It helps me regulate my body temperature while still being comfortable.

Know What You Need When You Travel

When I travel, I have a few things I bring with me. I always bring a travel pillow, a mini fan, and several different types of pajama bottoms. I want to have different options to utilize if needed to make my stay more comfortable. Disclaimer: I also stay in good hotels with great beds and pillows.

If you’re backpacking, chances are you’re trying to save money, so hostels are usually your ideal place to stay. And I have friends who swear by them. However, you don’t know what kind of mattresses you will be sleeping on until you get there. This would honestly concern me because I typically stay in hotels.

If you’re traveling the country with an RV, Camper, or Trailer, things can be tailored to your needs. For example, there are mattresses that you can buy, like the short queen size RV mattress, which can fit anywhere without sacrificing comfort. Also, having your own RV, Camper, or Trailer means that you’re in charge of what you put there! It’s a great way to travel on the cheap, too!

How To Use Personalized Greeting Cards For Customers

How To Use Personalized Greeting Cards For Customers

When you run your own business, you have clients or customers you need to manage and maintain relationships with. To make them feel special and appreciated, personalized greeting cards will help you and your brand stand out by providing a one-on-one experience, unlike many businesses in today’s world.

There are so many different ways to utilize a workflow to send personalized cards to your customers. Greeting cards for customers are also a great way to show you care. Therefore, I want to share four simple ways to incorporate them into your business management and operation workflows.

Greeting Cards For Clients

5 Ways To Send Personalized Greeting Cards To Your Clients

Sending Birthday Cards

Want to send a little something special to your client or customers? Sending a personalized handwritten greeting card to celebrate a birthday is a great way to make your client feel seen, appreciated, and loved on their birthday.

While many people forego handwritten cards or greeting cards these days due to the presence of social media, this will help you stand out from the crowd and make them feel special.

Sending Thank You Cards

Do you send thank you cards to clients, customers, or other businesses? If not, you should consider using custom handwritten greeting cards that will be customized to your brand and your voice.

Sending greeting cards to your customers will also help your clients trust you. It may also make them refer you to their friends and family because of the personalized service they received!

Sending Holiday Greeting Cards

When I think about sending holiday greeting cards, I often opt for something I can make online. But, if I were to send them to my clients during the holidays, I’d want a personalized touch that only handwritten cards can bring.

Adding a Personalized Touch to Your Onboarding Packet

Do you send your clients a physical onboarding packet? If so, you can add in a personalized, handwritten greeting card to say hello and personalize the experience even further. Let’s face it; a new client needs the most attention at the start of their contract with you.

You want to provide the best service possible and get to know them and their needs. Sending a hello via physical note or card in the packet is the best way for the client or customer to feel like they matter. In fact, it will also show that you took a little extra time and effort during the process.

Make Your Business Stand Out After Networking Events

After attending a networking event, I’m sure you’ll end up with many business cards of people you may or may not talk to again. To increase the chances of continuing the conversations at the event, you could always send them a greeting card in actual handwriting to ensure that you continue the positive impression you made in person.

If you’ve never thought about using handwritten personalized greeting cards for your customers and clients, I would genuinely encourage you to think about it in the future. In the age where everything is digital, only certain things stand out to clients who are used to just receiving email after email in their inboxes.

I Am Worthy Of Abundance Bracelet

When I opened the box, I loved the packaging. It was sophisticated with a touch of sparkle with the confetti. And, if you know me, I love confetti.

This beautiful, sterling silver Awe Inspired bracelet spells out one of my favorite affirmations: “I Am Worthy Of Abundance.” I was immediately drawn to the simplicity of the bracelet and the power the affirmation holds. It feels light and comfortable on my wrist (more pictures to come, I promise), and it effortlessly matches all of my other jewelry.

Awe Inspired tells you to: “Wear your empowering mantra and live your life by its message.” And I do that every single day.

I continually encourage myself to be mindful and have an abundance mindset. I’ve also worked with several life coaches who helped guide me through the mindset work I needed to do to get over my mental blocks around money and abundance. So, I know the power affirmations hold and know they work.

This bracelet, while dainty, is a statement piece you can wear with anything you’d like. I have added this bracelet to my daily jewelry routine. It can be worn with any clothing, and it fits so well into my sterling silver jewelry collection.

Here are my Top 3 Awe Inspired favorites:

If you don’t know what affirmations are, here’s some information:

Affirmations are short, positive statements that can help you transform your mindset while impacting your life and well-being. When said, written, or worn regularly, these statements help provide you with a positive outlook on life and help you reframe thoughts. And it helps reduce the impact and effects of stress, offering benefits for your physical and psychological wellbeing. Also, affirmations can help you sleep better.

Exploring Canada’s Largest Cities

Exploring Canada’s Largest Cities

Canada is a large and diverse country with vast swaths of natural beauty in its purest form, making it a pleasure for any travel enthusiast. Many people dream of taking a trans-Canadian road trip to see the pristine snow-capped mountains, dazzling glacial lakes, flawless beaches, massive national parks, and incredible historical landmarks.

The people of the country are extremely warm and hospitable, and they welcome visitors from all over the world with open arms. Because Canada is the world’s second-largest country, traveling around can be difficult if you don’t know where to begin. Continue reading to learn about Canada’s largest cities.

Canada's Largest Cities

How To Explore Canada’s Largest Cities:

Toronto

The city is densely packed with tall buildings, which pale compared to the renowned CN Tower. Trinity Bellwoods Park, Tommy Thompson Park, and High Park are just a few of Toronto’s beautiful green parks with paths and recreational facilities. Visitors may satiate their hunger at award-winning restaurants such as Buca, Dandylion, and Alo, all located in Toronto.

Montreal

Montreal, Canada’s second-largest city, is France’s home away from home. The French are also responsible for the city’s relaxed, laid-back vibe. It is a cultural hotspot with a diverse range of international influences, hosting more than 100 festivals each year.

Montreal is a vibrant, exciting city with award-winning restaurants, internationally famous institutions and sites, and upscale retail boutiques. In addition, the city is the epicenter of French-language cinema, theater, radio, television, print publishing, and multimedia in Canada.

Calgary

Unlike other Canadian cities, the weather in Vancouver is sunny and pleasant practically all year. There are a few dreary and rainy days, but more than 300 days of sunshine. Calgary’s air is extremely dry, and the weather is constantly changing.

The Chinook, a well-known warm wind, raises the temperature, allowing you to shovel snow in one moment and then lounge in the sun in a t-shirt the next. Several skyscrapers, lovely parks, fascinating landmarks and museums, and fantastic restaurants can be found in the city. Calgary is noted for its erratic weather at a mile above sea level.

Ottawa

Ottawa is a modest, pleasant capital city that is nowhere near the scale of its equivalents, Toronto and Montreal. The city is charming and bike-friendly, tranquil and civilized, and a fantastic base for exploring the Canadian wilderness in Ontario, which is just on its doorstep.

In the summer, the city’s park-lined Rideau Canal is bustling with boats, and in the winter, ice skaters. If you’re thinking about moving to Ottawa, you’ll find it challenging to find Ottawa homes for sale. In Ottawa’s real estate market, inventory is low, yet prices are still out of reach for many.

Edmonton

Edmonton boasts a vibrant cultural and arts scene, with opportunities to see live theater, visit various art galleries, and participate in various festivals. Elk Island National Park and William Hawrelak Park will appeal to nature lovers and outdoor enthusiasts worldwide. Edmonton is nestled in a verdant river valley, with the North Saskatchewan River running straight through the heart of the city.

In addition, the city is kept green by a great network of open spaces and parks designed to safeguard the natural environment. One of this location’s best qualities is its friendliness. Unlike residents of some larger cities, Edmontonians have a slower-paced, community-oriented attitude. The friendly locals welcome newcomers and guests. This positive outlook will go a long way toward assisting you in settling in and making new acquaintances after relocating to Edmonton.

BLVCK Paris

BLVCK Paris

If you know me personally, you know I love wearing black. I’m a big fan of wearing all-black clothing 24/7, and it’s the primary color you see in my wardrobe. With that said, I am so excited to bring you a collaboration with BLVCK Paris. I was gifted all three items for free in exchange for an honest review.

BLVCK Paris Packaging

Okay, when I tell you that I’m picky about packaging, I’m picky about packaging.

But these items came in simple black and white packaging that gave off that vibe I was expecting from this brand. The items arrived in two bags and a box, giving off a sleek, minimalist look. I was so excited to open the bags I barely had time to take photos!

BLVCK Bold Black Hoodie:

This Bold Black Hoodie is now one of my favorite hoodies to wear. I wore it to a concert where I had to wait outside in the cold to get in (yay for a cheap general admission ticket). I paired this hoodie with a packable puffer jacket, and I was SO warm.

The construction of the hoodie is solid with 100% Terry Cotton, and it feels so good on my body. I love the minimalist detail of the logo on the back of the sweatshirt, too. Given the size I got (3X – I’m typically an 18/20 in clothing) and my height (5’2″), the logo ended up lower on my body than expected, but it still looked good.

BLVCK Summer Bucket Hat:

Lately, I’ve been obsessed with Bucket Hats, and the BLVCK Summer Bucket Hat is no exception. Constructed with 100% Faux Leather, the logo sits right on the front of the hat, and it includes a size adjuster inside. It’s a solid option for a sunny day, and it’s super stylish.

I plan to bring the Summer Bucket Hat to Las Vegas this week. It will be added to my concert outfit rotation, and I couldn’t be more excited.

BLVCK Tumbler:

I always have a tumbler full of water while I work throughout the day, and this BLVCK “All Black Everything” tumbler is absolute perfection. It’s stainless steel and is supposed to keep your liquids hot or cold for up to 24 hours. It’s excellent for long meetings, traveling, or simply using throughout the day while hanging out at home.

Thank you so much, BLVCK Paris, for a great collaboration. I love all of your products and plan on buying more from you in the future. The products are well-made and fit right into my wardrobe!
