While you’re scrolling on Pinterest, you’re going to find so many tips for bloggers out there. Blogging isn’t easy, but it’s not as hard as some people make it out to be.
It’s one of those things that if you don’t try it yourself, I mean really try it, you won’t truly understand how it actually works. Also, you won’t know the toll it may take on your mind, body, and soul.
For example, it takes more than a little copy and pasting to create a blog post like this. There are SO many other tasks that need to be completed before you click schedule or post.
For many of us (myself included), blogging isn’t our full-time gig… And for all of your Mom bloggers out there, I honestly don’t know how you do it all! I’m impressed.
Bloggers have to carve time out of the little time we have to unwind after work or on the weekends to work on our blog, create social media graphics and posts, and engage with our audience.
It seems like it would take an army to run a successful blog, but I promise you that you can do it successfully if you promise to focus on your self-care first! All of the self-care tips for bloggers below are all things that I tried myself, so I know they work! Keep reading!
Here are 5 self-care tips for bloggers that I absolutely swear by:
Plan your day accordingly.
Many bloggers have a full-time job on top of managing their blog, so it’s very important to have dedicated time for yourself along with everything else that you need to do. Even if it’s 5 minutes, it works! Schedule time in your calendar to work on your blog so you can work around it and add in time for yourself. Even if that time is spent in the bath or the shower. It helps!
Schedule your content ahead of time.
By doing this, you’ll be able to batch your content (on your blog and social media) and it will save you so much time during the week. You can focus more on connecting and engaging with your audience, too! If you schedule things ahead of time, you will start to see openings in your schedule and be able to spend that time doing the things you love or simply laying on your couch to unwind.
Don’t stress out about creating content.
Do you post on the same day every week? Simply, pre-plan and brainstorm your blog posts before you schedule them. You know what goes into each post and you know what you need to do to promote it. Simply create a workflow that works for you and write whenever you feel inspired.
Listen, I’m all for consistency, but if you miss a day or you have no idea what to post on any given Tuesday, it’s not the end of the world. Listen to your body and your mind. Trust yourself when you simply can’t figure out what to post. Creativity will strike soon after! It happens to me all the time.
Diffuse essential oils while you’re working on your blog.
I’ve been using essential oils both at home and at work and I can definitely tell you that it helps you ground your energy and allow you to focus on what you’re doing. I like to diffuse certain oils or use my rollerball on my skin. And, there are so many diffuser recipes out there, but I personally love diffusing Wild Orange (or any citrus oil) with Peppermint. It’s amazing!
Take breaks while you’re working.
Every 30 minutes or so get up and stretch. Don’t sit at that computer all day. You need to get your body moving. If you want to make it a game, every time you get up do 10 squats or 15 jumping jacks! Make sure you stay active instead of sitting all day! Your body will thank you for it.
