Some of you may have young children at home while others have no children at home. It doesn’t matter whether you’re a night owl, early bird, a parent, or not a parent. I’m here to lend you some tips to be more productive with your blog.

Here are 4 Simple Productivity Tips for Bloggers:

Create a Blogging Schedule

The first step towards being more productive with your blog is to have a blogging schedule. This will lay out key details of your day, such as what time slots you’ll use for writing, planning, scheduling, and editing photos. You’ll also need a time slot to check emails and social media so that you can reply in a timely fashion to those who reach out to you.

When I started my blog in 2017, I was trying to push out content like crazy… Like 3 blog posts a week crazy. Needless to say, I burnt myself out quickly and knew I needed a schedule to follow. It’s definitely changed over the years but having that solid foundation really helped me stay focused.

Start With Priority Tasks

When you make your blogging schedule make sure to start with your priority tasks. Since blogging is a work at home job, you’ll need to be prepared for the unexpected. The best way to always be productive with blogging is to start your day off with tasks that simply cannot wait until tomorrow. This will ensure you’re able to handle any of the unexpected mishaps that occur while working from home, without taking away from your necessary blogging tasks. I love using Trello to keep me organized and on top of my priority tasks. Once I started using it in May, I haven’t looked back since. Give it a try.

Schedule All of Your Content

Create an editorial calendar for your blog content ideas and social media shares. It’s best to schedule a month out but you can start schedule two weeks out until you get the hang of planning and scheduling your content. You can use a Google Calendar Template, download a free editorial calendar template or purchase one that already has ideas inserted into the calendar. Also, Tailwind helps me stay organized by keeping all of my drafts in one place before I’m ready to post them. Yes, I manually pin too, but this saves time if I need to re-pin content to other boards!

Work in Bulk

Consider working in bulk with various blogging tasks to be more productive as a blogger. Since you’ll be working in a routine with your blogging schedule and scheduling content, you’ll know what your upcoming tasks will require. Consider taking all of your photos and editing them for the week so that you have that done for all of this week’s content and create pins and other graphics all at once. I typically do this in Canva or in RelayThat. They both are amazing programs and are truly amazing tools for any entrepreneur. Also, you may even try to write a few blog posts when you’re super focused so that you’re working in bulk throughout all areas of your blog process for maximum productivity.

Lastly, when it comes to being more productive with blogging, it’s all about learning what time of day your creative mind works best all the while thinking about your household life. You’ll want to have your blogging career blend into your lifestyle as easily as possible to keep your motivation high and productivity levels up. I’m confident that you’ll soon find the perfect rhythm to your blogging day when you start using my productivity tips for bloggers featured above.
